Site for New Car Price Quotes and Car Buying Advice Reveals in Survey That Rising Gas Prices Will Have Major Impact on Votes

Ferndale, WA (PRWEB) April 24, 2007

Rising gas prices will have a major influence on how Americans vote in upcoming elections, according to a new survey by car buying advice and new car price quote site BuyingAdvice.com.

The survey was conducted as oil market analysts predicted an average U.S. gas price of over $ 3 per gallon by summer. Almost 70 percent (69.8 percent) of those surveyed said that the rising gas prices at the pump would have a “major impact” on how they cast their vote.

The survey also asked who respondents felt was “most responsible” for the current gas price. Politicians (30 percent) ranked second behind oil companies (45 percent), with twice as many people blaming their elected representatives as oil producing countries (15 percent) for the current situation. Only nine percent of those questioned said that drivers held the most responsibility for the rising gas prices.

Four out of five of those surveyed said they believed that legislative changes could impact gas prices, with 39 percent saying that limits on oil company profits would have greatest impact.

Presented with a range of options, 26 percent said more subsidies for alternative energy sources would have the biggest effect on prices while cutting tax on gas was chosen by 14 percent and boosting domestic oil production was the choice of 20 percent.

The survey was conducted among 950 users of the BuyingAdvice.com Web site, which provides competitive new vehicle price quotes and auto buying tips to 50,000 consumers a month.

BuyingAdvice.com provides car buying advice and the latest car pricing news, new car reviews and an array of tools for the new and used car buyer. Users can request new car price quotes and receive the Buying Advice Team’s Insider Report for New Car Buyers.

DealerDrop.com Launches Community Car Price Reporting Site

San Jose, California (PRWEB) June 26, 2008

Advertised new car prices are easy to find. But actual automobile sale prices, the final sale figures reached through dealer-seller negotiation, have been hard to pin down. Many new-car pricing sites, run by industry insiders rather than consumers, offer list or dealer-derived prices rather than real-life final sale prices.

Until now, that is. DealerDrop.com today announced the launch of its new car pricing site , an online community that allows consumers to view and share data on the final sale price of their new car. DealerDrop.com is an interactive web site designed to inform people about actual sales prices being offered on new cars, helping them to understand local pricing at a glance and allowing them to make smarter decisions when purchasing a new vehicle. The site empowers new car shoppers, allowing them to research other people’s final car sale prices to find out how much they should expect to pay for their new car.

DealerDrop’s simple interface and powerful search function features provide consumers with the ability to hone in on prices based on sub-model, dealership, and geographic area. In addition to finding actual new car prices, consumers are able to review and share additional information, including

– Specific pricing data for vehicles, down to the trim level

– Dealership performance ratings

Finding this information on DealerDrop.com is absolutely free, and does not require users to register.

“We created DealerDrop to allow consumers to discover quickly what the actual sales price for a new car in their area is— something none of the leading web sites provide,” said Eric Rafia, DealerDrop CEO. “In addition, we plan to add additional tools that take the headache out of the new car negotiating process.”

New Car Price Survey Shows Car Buyers Believe Internet Price Quotes Get Them a Better Deal

(PRWEB) July 2, 2007

Online shoppers say the Internet helps them negotiate a better new car price, states a new survey from BuyingAdvice.com, an online consumer advice and free price quote site.

The survey conducted during June of 2007 asked 1,261 users of the site, which provides more than 50,000 Internet free price quote e-mails a month, to assess the impact of online price quotes on their car buying experience. More than 86 percent of respondents said they believed that purchasers who requested an Internet price quote got a better deal than those who did not.

Participants in the survey shared their personal data with their responses and all stated that they were within thirty days of making a new car purchase. The results of the study provide an intriguing snapshot of the current car buying market.

In addition to the impact on price, respondents were asked to assess whether they felt that requesting a free price quote online had an impact on the length of time they spent purchasing a new vehicle. Eighty-two percent of respondents also said that they believed that getting an Internet price quote speeded up the car buying process.

Interestingly, 66 percent of the sample reported that this was the first time they had requested a new car price online with a price quote, indicating that this is a growing trend among new car buyers.

It has long been established that car buyers are using web resources to research vehicles they intend to buy but it now seems that they are requesting price quotes in increasing numbers.

The positive feelings toward the Internet price quote process among buyers were further supported by their reaction when asked if they would recommend the process to a friend or family member thinking of buying a new car or looking to compare a new car price.

Over eighty-eight percent of those sampled said they would recommend a friend or family member to get a free price quote online when buying a new car.

BuyingAdvice.com is a consumer advice and Internet price quote site that features tips and advice for car buyers, new car reviews and the latest news and information from the automotive world.

USAA Integrates TrueCar Price Reports to Enhance Online Car Buying Service

San Antonio, Texas (Vocus) November 11, 2009

Financial services provider USAA has added a new car pricing report from leading car pricing website TrueCar.com to USAA’s online car buying service , giving shoppers direct access to see the full range of prices others are paying for new cars in their area when data is available. The result is that buyers will be able to see all of their pricing options at a glance to help them get the best possible deal on a new car.

“At USAA, we’re committed to demystifying the car-buying process to make it easier for members to purchase a car. We believe providing objective information, like that offered by TrueCar, is essential to achieving that goal,” said David Bohne, president of USAA Federal Savings Bank. “By adding TrueCar’s market-specific price comparative data to our site, we are giving our members all the tools they need to get a great deal on their dream car.”

The TrueCar Price Report provides real-time data by processing thousands of car sales transactions each day. This data is displayed in clear, easy-to-read graphs, which provide the full range of prices paid by other people for the exact same vehicle in a given market area. In addition, the report calculates the dealer cost structure of a vehicle – TrueCost – providing another tool to empower car buyers to shop with confidence.

For example, a member in Los Angeles, Calif. may see a sticker price of $ 21,615 for a 2009 Honda Accord Sedan 4 Dr. I4 Man LX. Then, the USAA online car buying service’s TrueCar Price Report shows that the same vehicle costs an average of $ 19,484, while the USAA member price is $ 17,885.

“Knowing whether or not you are getting a great deal is at the core of car buyer frustration,” says Scott Painter, TrueCar Chief Executive Officer. “Providing price confidence by knowing what others paid plus cost structure and all available incentives gives buyers peace of mind.”

USAA’s online car buying service also enables customers to “build” their dream car, get a no haggle price from a local dealer, insure the vehicle*, secure a loan, and then walk in to pick up the car with money in hand. USAA provides additional value for its car-buying members with special offers from major carmakers such as GM and Mercedes, and through its relationship with Zag, the company that powers USAA’s online car buying service.

More than 225,000 USAA members use USAA’s online car buying service each month. Since its launch in 2007, more than 55,000 new and used cars and trucks have been purchased through the program, with a total savings of more than $ 96 million off of MSRP for new cars.
